Himalayan
A Gothic Castle in the Heart of the Indian Himalaya
✦ 2003 Metres · Apple & Cherry Orchards · Snow-Capped Peaks ✦
Grandeur, Elegance
& Mountain Warmth
Built in the Victorian Gothic Revival style and perched at an elevation of 2003 metres, The Himalayan is the premier luxury resort in the Manali area of North Western Indian Himalaya. Our Castle and Cottages are set in the midst of apple and cherry orchards, overlooking resplendent snow-capped mountain peaks and waterfalls plunging down rock faces.
Stepping inside the vestibule, the visitor is greeted by meticulously restored antique furnishings and objets d'art complementing medieval arches and wood panelling. Light streams through the atrium glass onto the Pompeii-inspired marble floor, intensifying the drama. Cast-iron fireplaces and hand-carved Gothic chimneypieces carry the splendour into every public room.
The Himalayan's fine blend of inimitability and characteristic eccentricity will find appeal with connoisseurs of tradition looking for a difference. Here grandeur, elegance and style have conspired to create intimacy and warmth without pretension.
Inside the Gothic Masterpiece
Passing through the flagstone-paved cul-de-sac, beyond urn-topped gateposts, you have crossed the threshold into our world. The scorching and dusty Indian cities seem like a distant past. The Castle's Gothic façade, with its battlements and buttresses, looms startlingly before you.

High above the lofts, the Turret culminates at the Crow's Nest — offering rewarding 360° panoramas of the castle grounds and the spectacular Manali landscape. Perhaps the right time for a rendezvous?
